Resident Students are required to:
- Be a single parent
- Be a legal resident or citizen of the U.S.
- Must be at or below 30 Average Median Income (AMI)
- Have a willingness to participate in training programs
- Be committed to completing the program
- Be willing to participate in any assessments or interviews as part of the application process
- Be willing to complete all prerequisites prior to move-in into our campus apartments
- Do to space requirements, students cannot have no more than 4 children, due to our HUD requirements.
- Have primary custody of at least one child
- Currently only female single parents are allowed to stay on campus.
- Must be actively seeking employment or career advancement opportunities
- Demonstrate a commitment to improving skills and achieving self-sufficiency
- Being willing to adhere to the rules and expectations of the training center
- Agreeing to participate in any required counseling or support services
- Be open to learning new skills and techniques to improve job prospects
- Have a genuine interest in self-improvement and goal achievement
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with others
- Being free from any legal issues or criminal convictions that may hinder participation
- Being committed to maintaining regular attendance and punctuality
- Demonstrating a willingness to actively engage in the learning process
- Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism
- Maintain good communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment
Non-Resident Students are required:
Note: All requirements above are required for non-resident students with the exception of meeting the 30% AMI threshold.
There are no costs for our program, with the exception of our resident fee for residents living on campus and counseling (which in many cases can be paid for through Medicaid).
Our training program last approximately 42 weeks with a 1-month summer break in July. This is subject to change as we are still building upon our new program.
Childcare options are provided for children under the age of 4 years old.
Yes, we provide job placement services for those who are attending our training program, through our corporate, state and career services partners. See more information regarding our job services.
Yes, we are a certified "Life of a Single Mom" group site. We host our single moms group every 1st and 3rd Thursdays. All training center participants are required to be in attendance at least 85% of the groups that are held to be eligible for graduation.
Yes, each single parent resident apartment is connected with a HUD Choice Voucher through Section 8. This voucher reduces the amount of the fee, depending on the household size and income of the participant.
Additional cost for counseling services can be paid for through Medicaid.
