New Life Directions Ministries (NLDM) is a faith-based nonprofit organization in Louisville, Kentucky, committed to helping single-parent families with young children build stable, healthy, and independent lives.
We primarily serve single parents with children under age five who are experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or significant barriers to long-term stability.
NLDM believes that lasting change involves more than providing housing. Families need a safe place to live, practical skills, supportive relationships, opportunities for growth, and a strong foundation for the future.

Our vision is for single-parent families to move beyond immediate crisis and develop housing stability, family strength, education, employment, life skills, community connections, and spiritual foundation needed for long-term success. Through a Christ-centered approach, NLDM provides families with structured support, practical resources, education, encouragement, and opportunities to develop the skills needed to thrive.
We want families not simply to find a place to live, but to build a life in which both parent and child can thrive.
Our mission is to engage, encourage, and empower single parents through Christ-centered housing support, practical education, career development, wellness, and meaningful community connections. We equip families with the skills, resources, and support needed to achieve stability, independence, and lasting success.

The NLDM Training Center is a flexible community space used for classes, workshops, art activities, choir rehearsals, mock interviews, and special events. Community organizations may also request to use the space by completing our Contact Us form.
NLDM proudly partners with Our Angels Andress Christian Child Care Center, a faith-based early childhood education provider located on the NLDM campus. Children receive nurturing, developmentally appropriate care that supports their intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth. Christian values are woven into daily learning to help children build confidence, healthy relationships, creativity, and a strong foundation for the future.

The NLDM campus includes 20 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments for eligible single-parent families. Participants must meet program and Section 8 eligibility requirements. Families receive up to two years of transitional housing, financial literacy education, practical training, and structured support as they work toward stability and independence.

Making each apartment feel like home is a unique process. Some residents come with a lot of furniture, and we help supplement this with vouchers to local thrift store. Other times, our participants move in with nothing. In these cases, God's Design INC collaborates to fully furnish the new home.
